American City Pest & Termite, Gardena, Calif., thinks so much of bees they built and funded the maintenance of an apiary in Acton, Calif. American City named it the Bugs Ugh Bee Farm. The farm, which was established in June 2019 with the purchase of a hive, has since rescued three more hives and helped teach the company about bees and their lifecycles, mating habits and honeycomb production.

New York-based Fox Pest Control commemorated a new Hudson Valley office location by fundraising for the Colorectal Cancer Alliance. Throughout March, the company’s Pest Pros wore blue and distributed 200 Colorectal Cancer Awareness wristbands to customers. For each accepted wristband Fox donated $1, which, after added to the direct donations of some customers and employees, led to a total of $404 in donations, surpassing the company’s goal of $250.

Washington-based Certus acquired Perx Pest Control of Boise, Idaho, in May 2020 to continue its expansion into the Pacific Northwest. Perx Pest Control was founded in 2014 by brothers Jake and Max Perkes.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution awarded Georgia-based Rollins a 2020 Top Workplaces Award for a fourth consecutive year. Rollins ranked 13th in the large business category while its company Northwest Exterminating received honors for the ninth time, ranking 27th on the list of midsize companies. The awards, which are given to companies in metro Atlanta that excel in training, benefits and providing company direction, are solely based on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey.

Action Termite and Pest Control, Toms River, N.J., acquired F&F Pest and Termite Control of Blackwood, N.J. F&F provides diagnostic evaluation, preventive pest control and protective pest control to all of New Jersey and the Philadelphia area.
